Washington Draws All the Wrong Lessons From Boston

April 24 (Bloomberg) -- Ordinary people, elected andunelected, behaved heroically last week. Unfortunately, it allhappened hundreds of miles from Washington.

In Boston, strangers gave clothing and shelter to shiveringrunners. They comforted injured spectators. They saved lives andlimbs. In New York, there wasn’t as much they could do, so theysang “Sweet Caroline” at Yankee Stadium. Meanwhile, the people welove to hate -- elected officials and government bureaucrats --performed admirably and collaboratively, sharing power andcamera time.
