Google Inc., owner of the most popular Internet search engine, is projected to control about a third of the digital-advertising market this year, extending its lead as mobile and video marketing gain ground.

The Mountain View, California-based company may grab 33 percent of worldwide revenue from online ads, up from 31 percent in 2012, EMarketer Inc. said. Social-network leader Facebook Inc. will increase its share to 5 percent from 4.1 percent, while Yahoo! Inc., the biggest U.S. Web portal, will take 3.1 percent, down from 3.4 percent, the researcher estimated.
