The Swiss National Bank doesn’t expect the economy to suffer a prolonged contraction after abolishing its ceiling on the franc, Alternate Governing Board Member Thomas Moser said.

“We’re optimistic that even though we very clearly will see a big drop in growth, we won’t slip into a recession, clearly not a deep recession,” he said at a conference in St. Gallen on Friday.
