Emerging-Market Fear Gauge Narrows Spread With VIX on Fed: Chart

The Chicago Board Options Exchange ETF Volatility Index spread over a similar measure for U.S. stocks was at the narrowest in almost three months on Monday, suggesting the Federal Reserve’s repeated affirmation of its accommodative policy is calming emerging-market stocks more than U.S. equities. The developing-nation fear gauge also extended its retreat from a five-month high in February to 43 percent, dropping to the lowest this year.
