African Barrick Gold Plc, a mining company majority-owned by Canada’s Barrick Gold Corp., said it will drop its parent’s name when it unveils a new corporate identity in November.

“It’s part of the rebranding of ABG, being independent of Barrick,” African Barrick Chief Executive Officer Brad Gordon said yesterday in an interview in Denver. “Barrick are happy for us to do that as well. It’s a joint decision.”
