Netflix Inc., the world’s largest subscription-streaming service, plans to enter Japan by fall, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The company, which is expanding to Australia and New Zealand in March, said on its earnings call in January that it would offer its monthly service to almost every territory with high-speed Internet service by the end of 2016.
