Apple Inc., trying to expand the reach of its set-top television box, released a new app called TV to make it easier for consumers to find shows from providers such as CBS, ABC, and HBO.

The TV application has a suggestion engine that offers shows and movies based on previous content watched, similar to Apple Music’s “For You” feature. The feature links with the new single sign-in on the Apple TV streaming video device. Users can login to their cable network account in one app and have that access transfer to other compatible apps. Apple introduced the new app Thursday during an event at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, which highlighted updates to the Mac computer line.
