Paul Ryan Is Thoughtful, Handsome and Misguided

Aug. 11 (Bloomberg) -- As a fellow budget wonk, I like PaulRyan a lot. But his policy proposals fall far short of hiswinning personality.
Ryan, the Wisconsin representative Republican presidentialcandidate Mitt Romney announced today as his running mate, isboth thoughtful and prolific. I could have many policy debateswith him on a range of issues. Today, though, I’m going to focuson health care. Ryan’s approach to health care is somewhat akinto a doctor observing that an arm is finally showing some signsof healing -- and then deciding to amputate it.
