As Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s promised timescale to transform his country jumps from 100 days to 1,000, some Italians are starting to question whether they’ll ever see results.

“So far the new government has been long on announcements and short on actions,” said Riccardo Barbieri, chief European economist at Mizuho International Plc in London. “Proposals to boost employment and investment have not yet taken shape.”
