Brian Conlon, founder and chief executive of First Derivatives Plc, a company he founded more than two decades ago in Northern Ireland, has died. He was 53.

He died on July 28, according to his company, which provides software and consulting services to financial and other firms. In May, First Derivatives saidBloomberg Terminal Conlon had been diagnosed with cancer and would continue to work during his treatment. It didn’t specify which type of cancer.
