The United States Supreme Court is the highest federal court in the United States. The Court is limited by the US Constitution to cases and controversies arising under federal law. It has original Jurisdiction over cases that affect Ambassadors, other public ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State is a Party. Most of its work consists of appellate review from state supreme courts.
