Two Democrats announced they’ll vote to confirm Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court as GOP Senator John McCain said he’s trying to reach a “long-term” deal to allow confirmation while saving the minority party’s ability to block future high court nominations.

"Regardless of which party is in the White House, the U.S. Supreme Court should be above politics," Senator Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota said in a Twitter posting Thursday. Minutes earlier, Joe Manchin of West Virginia said he would vote for Gorsuch.
