Brazil President Michel Temer’s popularity has fallen into single digits as he fends off corruption allegations and backs unpopular austerity measures, local press reported.

Temer was rated "good" or "very good" by nine percent of respondents, local newspaper Estado de S. Paulo reportedBloomberg Terminal, citing an Ibope poll. In the priorBloomberg Terminal Ibope survey carried out in March, the president’s approval rating stood at 20 percent.
