Malawi Vice President ‘Ready’ to Contest Presidential Election

Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima declared himself available to stand as a presidential candidate in next year’s elections and said he was in talks with political parties on whether they would back him.
“I prefer to work with a group of people who share similar ideologies and values and should they choose me to lead that group, yes, I am ready to contest as president,” Chilima said in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station.
