Austria’s highest court backed a U.S. request to extradite Dmitry Firtash on corruption charges, giving a green light for the Ukrainian tycoon to be sent to the U.S. for trial, possibly in the coming weeks.

The Supreme Court dismissed complaints by Firtash’s lawyers and by Austria’s Attorney General, who had both argued that the case is motivated by U.S. interests in influencing Ukraine’s politics.
