You try so hard to be optimistic about the outlook for the U.S. economy, and then President Donald Trump tweets again.

In a flurry of tweets on Friday, Trump alarmed stock investors by ratcheting up his anti-China talk to a new level of fury. “We don’t need China and, frankly, would be far better off without them,” he wrote.
