The 100 richest people on Earth gained more than half a trillion dollars this year as U.S. equity markets climbed to record highs. Despite global trade tensions and concerns about a U.S. recession, the cohort on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index saw their aggregated wealth grow to almost $3 trillion this week. On average, wealth among the top 100 has increased by $5 billion each this year.
